The Poor Guy Had To Go !!!

Andre-Villa Boas

Regarding the sacking of AVB; I totally agree he had to go. I am not a guy that encourages changing managers with the launch of a new kit as some clubs do but in this instance he had to go. What wins they had in the EPL were of a minimal margin and the losses they suffered were often large. The football was dour and if they went behind against a big team they simply could not score and sometimes imploded (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City whereas Chelsea and Man U they were never behind).

I've read a lot of posts from the football masterminds stating that the players signed are not good enough - believe me they are good enough. Have they played well so far for Spurs? Perhaps not. But are they good enough to take spurs to the next level? I very much think so. But the manager's job is to make them play as a team - that's really the one thing he has to do as Baldini handled transfers and Levy et al takes care of the money - and he simply did not do that.

Soldado scored 28 goals last season, all from inside the box and about half from inside the 6 yard box - so AVB plays inverted wingers who cut in and shoot every time. It does not take a rocket scientist to work out that system is flawed and no wonder spurs have the highest shot rate from outside the box, have converted the least chances in the EPL and Soldado has only really scored penalties.

Yet they played that system for the first 3 months of the season - it should not have been done in the first place, let alone tolerated for that amount of time. These people are paid disgusting amounts of money to make, quite often, very basic decisions and if they cannot even do that then they deserve what they get. And if you're reading this Levy - I'm throwing my hat into the mix.
