The UEFA CL Draw Reactions

By Chukwuka Gift

There is an outbreak from football fans and coaches after Monday’s UCL draws were released. The draws left some fans sad, some happy while others lamented, even coaches. We will be looking at some reactions from both coaches, players and even fans.

Coach Martino’s reaction…
“The most important thing is to arrive at their stadium in good shape and play well”.
Hahahaha! OMG! What is this? We all know that every team is supposed to be in good shape and of course play well against their counterpart, Mr. Martino!
Isn’t it obvious that Barcelona’s manager is quite skeptical about his team winning against Man City.

If he actually witnessed the game between Man City and Arsenal, then you’d not have to blame him. I mean, who will play Pellegrini’s men without a flinch? They bashed Bayern Munich’s record at home, from 2 nil down, they won the game 3-2. I am not saying Barca hasn’t done such before, but, can they against the forceful Bayern? Naaa! I don’t think so. Not without Messi, at least.

Coach Guardiola’s reaction…
“ I know Arsene Wenger quite well, I know his players quite well. In the draw, it was the most difficult team.”
Yeah! We know you know them. So?

(Arsenal club secretary) David Miles’ reaction…
“I think we have paid the price, it’s a fact. We would much rather be in the other half of the draw but we are where we are and I’m looking forward to these two matches.”
He continues,
“We’re optimistic; we ran them very close last year. Don’t forget we only lost on away goals. We’re hopeful we can come through this one. We’re top of the Premier League, they are top of the Bundesliga. For me this is the standout tie of the round. It should be two great games football.”
You guys are the top, but I don’t see you guys there at the end of the month. And again, stop reminding the Bavarians of last season. They will crush you guys with that statement.

(Bayern Munich CEO) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s reaction…
“ There were more convenient and easier opponents in that pot. I’d rather have played Zenith than Arsenal.”
“With their three Germans in tow, they are seeing more stability and experiencing a good season.”

Didier Drogba’s reaction…
“What a draw… I’m the luckiest man in this competition.  In both games I’ll be playing home! See you in few months.”
We will definitely welcome you back home at Stamford Bridge but don’t expect a warm reception on the field of play from the defenders. Cos, immediately the whistle goes off, you become a foe both in the eyes of the players and Chelsea fans.

Carl Jenkinson’s reaction…

“It was a strange one because you look at Bayern Munich and they’re a fantastic team – in that sense you’re thinking it could have been easier but, at the same time, we know we can beat them. We proved it last season.”
“Beating Bayern Munich 2-0 in their home ground doesn’t happen very often. We know we have the capability to beat them so I’m sure the boys are positive about the draw.”
I don’t know if I should reply this guy or not. The lad still talking about last season. You don’t wanna annoy Bayern Munich with that boy.

Man Utd fans on twitter reactions…
“Manchester United have a 100% record against Olympiakos who we face in the last 16 of the CL.”
“Olympiacos, couldn’t have asked for a better draw”.
“Olympiacos!! Aah couldn’t have been more lucky”.
“Don’t wanna sound too cocky…but Olympiacos are easy bait to anyone in #UCL. Pls Moyes don’t screw this up!!”

Just pray you guys have your wishes.

Although I have reacted to people’s reaction to the UCL draws, now,

My  reaction…
"First of all, I’m happy for Man Utd, Chelsea and of course Dortmund fans who apparently have a less tough team to deal with. Notwithstanding, all teams should be given their due respect. In as much as they qualified for the round 16.
It’s funny when these clubs think that they have an easy opponent and still go ahead to use their strongest players on the field of play.
If you say Olympiacos, Zenith, Galastaray and Schalke are nothing to you guys, I dare you all to use your second or even third team. Yeah! That’s what I’m talking about, you can’t.
So, if you can’t, then regard your opponent. That’s sportsmanship!
"

That’s mine.

Where’s yours?
