Is A World Class Striker Really Necessary?
Diego Costa and Lukaku |
Chelsea would benefit in buying a world class striker, but is it necessary? They paid nearly £20M for a Belgian teenager, who's been sent out on loan a few times and hit it off (both at West Brom and at Everton - who have less 'star studded quality' in the team than Chelsea do), and when it comes to a situation like this, they aren't prepared to give him a crack in the main team?
Lukaku is an absolute "beast", and he's still so young, he could be one of the best centre forwards in world football in 5 years time, and Chelsea can even take credit for that too!
But I suppose chucking another £50M at another star name would do the trick. I'm not criticising Chelsea here though, I just don't think its necessary to spend big all the time. What if Costa flops?!
I mean..
He's only had one 'very' good season in Spain, so why can't he flop? Plus its a whole different ball game in England. Lukaku has been in England for quite sometime now.
I say they build around him and give the young lad a chance. What do you say????

Yeah, I believe Lukaku should be worked on but I still think we need another striker. Diego Costa will be a good buy.
ReplyDeleteWell.. I get what you're saying but its risky. Mou has to win trophies next season if he wants to keep being the coach of chelsea. Costa is the big deal now. Let's be honest. It'd be better to risk with costa than risk with Lukaku. But hey... I don't see any reason why they can't play together though. City and Liverpool play with two strikers. Its no wonder the two teams have done better upfront than anyone in the league.
