LVG Got It Right

LOUIS VAN GAAL |
Y'all Man United fans need to chill out a bit. Making Rooney the captain was a very good decision by Van Gaal. You lots just have to deal with it. I've been seeing several stupid comments about how he's (Rooney) held the club ransom twice, wanting to leave for City, Chelsea or whatever but it's all lies. The truth is: He wanted to leave in 2010 (NOT for any specific club, the City rumour was made up by media) and that was disappointing. Last summer Chelsea wanted to sign him but Rooney never spoke a word, never held the club ransom, never refused to sign a new contract etc. He just kept working hard and when he was offered a new contract in January, he signed it. .
A player who links the midfield and attack, at his best, and is at the stage in his career where this trust and responsibility will only drive him on and give him the fresh impetus he needs and so, hopefully for the United faithful, the drive United need right now.. with his ability and own fire, I think he'll inspire the others as a captain should.. I also believe he'll get more vocal, too!.. Fletcher? Just don't see him as captain in this team, too many injuries and probably in a revamped United under Van Gaal is set to become a squad player for the coming season.. Also, the fact that LVG used RVP as his captain during the World Cup, and still overlooked him for this job, tells me he's identified why he SHOULDN'T be his captain for United!! He's probably thinking Van Persie just needs to get on with scoring (that'd be my thought!).. at the end of the day he's chosen the man he thinks will be his guy out there on the pitch, just as SAF did with Keano.. not saying Rooney could be a Roy Keane type captain but once again a very astute manager has picked his own man to carry his own word and drive forward onto the pitch.
Most People call him a mercenary because of his salary but I don't really understand how that's anyone else's business. I mean, when you watch him play, how hard he works and how much emotions he's showing whether it's scoring goals or screaming at the ref, you have to be an absolute idiot to believe he's only doing it for the money. He's a top class player and a club legend so I can't see what's wrong with him wanting to earn big money from it. Messi does it in Barca, Ronaldo in Real Madrid, Terry in Chelsea and Yaya Touré in Man City.
