Do You Think Schneiderlin Was Right To Push For A Move?

Schneiderlin |
Footballers have tendency to be over-dramatic and while Schneiderlin's comments about everything being destroyed seem a bit over the top I can at least understand where he's coming from. Southampton seemed to be building a good team with an excellent young coach but have completely dismantled that in a few weeks.
I know they've received more money than the players were actually worth but who have they bought instead? Other clubs know they have money to spend and will charge extra while players will be wary of joining a club that sells every half-decent player as soon as the opportunity rises.
Schneiderlin is a good player who would improve every squad in the premier league. He's frustrated that his club are seemingly setting course for the Championship but then again, if You sign your agreement to work for an employer for five years, you must fulfil your obligations. Declaring that you don't fancy it any more half way through is unprofessional.
Breaking the contract exposes you to civil action for breach of contract. If these players don't want to commit, don't sign a long-term deal and accept the consequences that come with it.
Players essentially want to have their cake and eat it and that's not fair on the clubs even without taking into account the emotions of the fans.
