Rooney and the England Team
Good evening friends. Hope y'all having a great day?! And if you're having a bad day, don't worry...we're about to change it with this piece. Today's article is written by a special friend and brother

Was reading an article this afternoon and there was this particular section where some journalists were talking about the best team selection for England.. Good team selections and all. The thing is....... i couldn't help but wonder why all of them were adding Rooney to their starting 11.
It's probably blasphemous of me to say this, but I think there are a lot of formations that could do England justice, and many of those do not include Rooney in the side. Sturridge is one of the hottest strikers in Europe on CURRENT FORM and his confidence is sky high. Unless England plan on playing two up top, which I don't think they should, then it quite clearly has to be either Rooney or Barkley in the hole. On that matter, I will say this: Rooney is the 3rd best no.10 at United. Both Mata and Kagawa are without doubt more naturally suited to this role. Rooney's a great player, but in no way does he retain possession, or play a killer pass as well as the aforementioned players. In addition, this is the first season that Rooney has noticeably lost a half yard of pace. Yes, he is always capable of producing a game-changing piece of magic, and yes, he is probably going to be really hungry as this will be his last chance to change his international legacy, but to be honest, as Rooney's natural heir for England, I think Barkley should be given more than a chance at this tournament. Should Rooney have a flat game at any point(which is highly likely), then I would throw Barkley in there, and give him a real go in the tournament. A young, hungry, talented, and un-jaded kid like that is just begging for the chance to elevate his game and light up the tournament...
The main obstacle and I repeat , THE MAIN OBSTACLE Hodgson needs to overcome when selecting his first-choice XI against the Italians is to pick players on form, rather than reputation. What England need is a manager with the balls to do something different. I believe Hodgson isn't the man with the balls. Throw in the young lads with pace to burn and skill to match. That's how the game is played now.
Please drop your comment if this article isn't enough reason why rooney shouldn't be a starter at the world cup.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Lol this is quite an absurd piece but somehow, you have a point.
ReplyDeleteWith or without Rooney, I don't think they will pass first knock out stage
