Mata Scores a Pass Mark in Mourinho’s Test
After Mourinho’s skepticism about Mata, it seems he has
finally accepted the fact that Mata might just be the player he needed to
augment the team’s potential.
Looking back at what the Special One said, “The way I’m
reading the situation and the reasons why, in this moment, he’s not playing so
much are the things I can speak about with him, but not publicly. In this
moment, Oscar is my No.10. I have to prove to the fans that I am good. Now, Mata
must do the same. I want to build with Oscar as my No.10. I want the other two
players, from the side, to adapt to that reality and learn how to do things
they were not ready to do before. (Mata will play regularly only when he adapts
to what we want)
Then Mourinho came up to say again, “Good is this, good is
the effort he made against Swindon. The way he changed the team in the second
half (against Aston Villa) makes me a very happy manager who can say 72 hours
in advance that he will start against Steau Bucharest.”
Professionalism is what I can say that Mata has shown, he
never uttered any negative word against his coach.
But the press seems not satisfied with the comeback of Mata
into the first eleven but went ahead to Chelsea news conference to inquire from
Mourinho why Kevin de Bruyne is been left out of games.
Being maddened, the Special One walked out after
he said, “You were for three weeks speaking about Mata, and now it’s De Bruyne.
So you aren’t interested in the players that are playing but interested in the
players not playing.”
