EPL 9th Round Preview


The international break has ended, now we can focus on the various leagues. In the EPL, the first match of the weekend sees Liverpool face Newcastle at St. James Park in the early fixture of the day with Liverpool set to go top of the table with at least a draw before Arsenal and Chelsea play later in the afternooon. Liverpool who are yet to lose on their last 7 travels welcome back the trio of Allen, Johnson, Cissokho after returning from injury and Lucas from suspension.

Arsenal welcome Norwich to the Emirates and would want to continue to impressive form which has seen them at the top of the table and they welcome back Cazorla and Sagna with Ozil shaking off a slight knee injury.


Manchester United face Southampton who have the best defence after conceding 2 goals and keeping 5 clean sheets. One man who the limelight will be on is Adnan Januzaj after his match winning performance against Sunderland and David Moyes would be wishing for more of the same from him.

After their mixed up start to the season, Chelsea are beginning to settle and they welcome Cardiff to the Bridge and would hope to keep their perfect record at home intact. Chelsea welcome back Torres while Ashley Cole and Schurrle are doubts for this game. A win for the Blues with Arsenal and Liverpool sliping up would see them top the table.

In other matches, Everton welcome Hull to Goodison Park and the Stoke vs West Brom, Swansea vs Sunderland, West Ham also welcome Man City who are yet to win on their travels.

On Sunday, Aston Villa face Tottenham who would look to bounce back after their humiliating defeat at home to West Ham.

The last match this week sees Crystal Palace welcome Fulham to Selhurst Park.
