Bundesliga Round 9 Review
Bayern Munchen regained top-spot from Bayern Leverkusen
after Leverkusen went top of the table with a 2-1 away win at Hoffenheim.
Sidney Sam gave Leverkusen the advantage and S.Kiessling doubling their goal in
the 70th minute with a controversial headed goal that went through a
hole in the side net but the referee ruled it as a goal. Roberto firmino had a
penalty miss for Hoffenheim in the 83rd minute only for Sven
Schipplock to score 5 minutes later but it seemed too late for a fight back.
Bayern Munchen continued their unbeaten start to the league
after coming back from a goal down in the first half to win 4 -1 against Mainz.
The fight back was inspired by Mario Gotze who was sent on for Rafinha for the
start of the second 45 mins. Gotze assisted 2 goals Robben and Mandzukic with
Muller scoring a double too.
Borussia Dortmund bounced back from their defeat against
B.Monchengladbach last time out by defeating Hannover with a Marco Reus first
half penalty Schalke defeated bottom of the table club E.Braunschweig 2-3 with
Roman Neustadter scoring the winning goal in stoppage time after Leon Goretzka
had put Schalke level in the 65th minute. Schalke go up to 5th
on the table.
Nurnberg and Freiburg who are the two teams yet to win in
the German Bundesliga this season had to share the spoils against E.Frankfurt
and Werder Bremen respectively. Freiburg playing a goalless draw against Werder
Bremen while Nurnberg played a 1-1 draw away at E.frankfurt after Josic Drmic
had to score in the 86th min to cancel out Frankfurt’s goal.
Other results see Hertha Berlin defeat B.Monchengladbach 1-0
to displace B.Monchengladbach off the 4th place. Augsburg who are
have only a point in their last 3 matches lost against Wolfsburg at home 1-2
with Brazilian, Luiz after Arsenal loanee, Johan Djorou scored an own goal to
gift Stuttgart the lead when it was at 2-2 only for R.Van der Vaart to score
the equalizer in the 67th minute.
