Football is a multipurpose sporting activity. It is something that makes us happy(when your team wins) & makes us sad(when your team loses). You see people out there, playing football...striving hard, just because they want to be stars like the Ronaldos, the Xavis, the Agueros, the Ferdinands, the Alonsos, and so on. Football is a game most people in all works of life are always delighted to watch. It brings smiles to faces. A paralysed man who probably forgot he was paralysed jumped up to support his club who just scored a goal; he was able to jump due to the love he had for the game. Too bad the paralysis would have to continue after the game..  A man slapped his wife who was demanding calmly for money all because his club lost. So you see, football has both negative and positive effects on people.

Some people refer to football as a game of the mind. Some believe that who wins and who loses depends on the levels of training. Some believe its all about the quality of players in the squad. However, other people believe that the winner and the loser is decided based on the number of fans they have. With these, we could say that football has different meanings to different people.

No matter what we think football entails, let's remember that it should be a reason for us to strife hard like the footballers and not to fight around in the name of being a football club fanatic.

Look at the children of today. Virtually all the males love football. Remember back then when we were at school too..

The paper balls, using our food flasks to play football, using our bags, using our shoes, using the duster, using the covers of plastic bottles and so on.

We did all these things and we enjoyed it. So Let's continue to enjoy this beautiful game in our own different ways without being violent.

You may be wondering if football affects some countries in any way..

Oh yes!

Just like it affects us one way or the other, it does so to countries. Some countries are looked down on because they've never qualified for World Cup before. Crazy right??? While Some other countries' source of wealth comes from football.
