Mancini Still Sad About His Last Relationship
Mancini |
"I
never expected what then happened...I never believed those rumours...I
said that I would have been made to look stupid [if they were true] and I
was," he told Il Corriere Dello Sport in an interview at the beginning
of the month.
Mancini
was never really a bad coach you know. Yes he is hot-tempered, he had
issues with some of the players but you also can't take away what he
gave to them.
"I
was hurt," he said. "I thought I deserved more respect for what I did
for City. My staff and I did an extraordinary job in three and a half
years. The club hadn't won a title for more than 40 years. I won a
league, an FA Cup, a charity shield and in the worst year, the last one,
I lost a final and finished second. The numbers are clear. I still
don't have a motivation for this sacking. Anyway, I'm proud of my work."
He
has every right to be proud of his work.. Probably if city had giving
him another chance, he would have performed well in the CL. But times
are hard in the football world now. Club owners are getting impatient
with their coaches even coaches are getting impatient with their
players. So its just crazy.
Hopefully,
Manuel Pellegrini will give them what they want. But if you look at it
closely, there's really no much difference between the two coaches. As a
matter of fact, Mancini has won more trophies than him.
Malaga
& Dortmund match last CL is enough reason to doubt the abilities of
the former Malaga coach but hey, its a different team, different
environment, different players. We will be watching..
