My Little Observation on the Game: Football
By Bayo Olamide
Having played football in my early days, I discovered that football is not a speech that you deliver but a game that you have to play & fight for a favourable outcome. It entails practical perspective. Really, disappointment does not merely come because your team lost but comes due to the way you must have bragged about it.
For instance, "hey Samuel, Chelsea is gonna win 2 - 0 today" then unfortunately Chelsea loses. You will feel an instant pain that your club lost but your emotions will be heightened when you remember how much talk you had poured into the game. Personal opinions are allowed in the game of football but be careful how far you go in granting your opinion to avoid agony, torture or heart break.
There was this story of a guy who during grassroots football match by him and his friend slapped his friend after he conceded a goal. Then later, this guy went back to beg the same friend that he slapped but received a punch instead. We later got to know that the two guys had been blowing their horns so loud before the match. That is what I will like to call "Talking Football" and it can cause - Disappointment & Torture.
You right there reading this had one point in your life done something crazy not because you lost the game but because you bragged about winning it.
Make sure you don't do that during this Confederation Cup. Let your country's outcome in any game do the talking. Only hope their legs do the finishing. And pray your mouth would shout for joy. That's all !!
Big ups to Football Sermons !! They're doing a great job too you know... and I really wanna say a big thank you to them for helping me post this on here..I hope you guys get to that pinnacle.
