Why Paul Pogba Is Still A Player For The Future.

With 80,000 fans packed at the Stade de France in Paris and the Nation desperate for an opening game win for the national team it was surprising that the team's poster boy and favourite hero Paul Pogba failed when it mattered most.

The Juventus player is one of the best in the game and at the tender age of 23 is already tipped as a future Ballon d'Or winner in the near future. Pogba is a player that had played for the famous Le' Havre academy which has also recently produced the likes of Steve Madanda (Marseille goalkeeper), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City), Lassana Diarra (Marseille ) and Dmitri Payet (West Ham). Pogba has proven in his time at Juventus that he is a big game player as Juventus were rumoured to have rejected a £60 million bid from Chelsea for his services last year.

All that changed last night as Pogba did not only go missing in the game against Romania but also failed to rally his team mates to victory. Though not the captain, the playmaker is one of the few respected players not only in Juventus but in the French national team.  The Equatorial Guinea born player had looked a shadow of his confident self preferring to show the spirit of a boy walking to the park for a four aside football game with his peers. He was seen waving to the crowd and also checking out his new hair style in the big screen . A behaviour which was opposite to that of a man roaring to show the world what stuff he was made of .

When the whistle was blown by the referee, all the audition done by the player ended with only a simple flick on and a shot at the Romanian goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu which resulted in the corner kick before Oliver Giroud opened the scoring. Though this is his first European Championship and his second major tournament with the national team, Pogba would have to do more to convince the world that he is what his representatives and Juventus have consistently said he is.

Though it is still too early to conclude but it is clear that the playmaker who was retained in his preferred playmaker role position ahead of Star player Dmitri Payet who was move to the right side of attack , still has a lot to learn in the game before he could be compared with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Eden Hazard and Thomas Mueller.

At 23, it is a testament to Pogba's ability that he is already compared with the players who are years ahead of him, with people forgetting his tender age.

One thing is clear  though , no matter the talents of Paul Pogba he is still clearly a player for the future.
