After Wenger's side went on to gain one point from the game against the Southamptons, Arsenal's manager said,

"They have difficult games as well and we took at least a point," he added. "It's not enough but considering the situation at half-time, we have to be content with it.

"I don't want to look for any excuses: they played at higher pace. In the first half we didn't play well. In the second half it was a very good football game. We've shown character and resilience."
