Something is WRONG !!!!!
I think the biggest problem facing Man United right now is trust between the manager and the fans. Sir Alex was able to develop such a level of trust between himself and the fans that no matter WHO he put on the field, you always felt a result was possible. His ability to fight, battle for everything was his most admirable quality and it was embodied in his squad.
However, that ability and trust between manager and fans overshadowed things that were overlooked for many years. The depth and quality of the squad is nowhere near a level that United fans should expect. Sure, you have Rooney (who looks to have found his mojo again) and Van Persie, but beyond that, who else would walk into other squads in the Premier League?
The deficiencies in the team that Fergie left behind for David Moyes would make it a tall task for anyone with inconsistent wingers, midfielders that are average and lack that killer creativity, and a defence that is both aging and injured. However, that does not excuse Moyes from putting out the team he has for the past few weeks.
Marginalizing Kagawa, failing to use Zaha and Nani in place of Young and Valencia, relying on Ferdinand and Vidic when it's clear Rio's age has caught up with him and Vidic still trying to find his legs, and not to mention Anderson and Cleverley over Kagawa. Does Moyes have what it takes? Who knows, only time will tell, but I would expect he needs to get his act together and stop acting like a 'defeatist'.
He lacks that fighting spirit. He seems to give up easily. Remember United fans, Fergie was great, but his stubborness and appeal have left you in the place you are, and he also left you with a midfield that features Ashley Young-Anderson-Cleverley-Valencia instead of (what could have been) Bale-Thiago-Pogba.

WELL LETS GIVE MOYES SOMETIME.
ReplyDeleteI do feel things should be better but it's necessary that he gets some time. I respect Moyes from his days at Everton and I've seen him turn disastrous starts with a relatively average and cheap Everton squad to impressive final positions. So there's no doubt about ability, we should just hope it comes to the fore ASAP!
