Should Osaze Be Called Back?

Osaze Odemwingie

Osaze is a player that has a good goal scoring record for both club and country. Albeit this quality, he has a problem of not knowing when and when not to talk which has been his undoing at club and international level.

From Shuiabu Amodu, Lars Lagerback, Samson Siasia to Stephen Keshi, even at club level with his bosses including that famous last day transfer fiasco when he was at West Brom, he has always been in one shit or the other.

Since call up to the national team is based on good performances at club level, Nigerians have been clamouring for him to be recalled to the national team with improved performances at Cardiff after been frozen out of the first team at West Brom for the 2nd half of last season.

It's not that Nigeria lacks goal scoring threat but in the absence of Emenike and Victor Moses we seem to have struggled in front of goal which was evident at the Confederations Cup even after creating several chances. Osaze could offer a backup option in the absence of the two and who said he couldn't even play alongside them if they are fit which would make for a mouth watering attack.

Stephen Keshi has always said every Nigerian player has a place in his team. Maybe its time he gives Osaze a call up.
