The signing of Mesut Ozil apart, Manchester United have been the most talked about topic in the English Premier League since September (Source: unknown). From the transfer activities to on-field event and off-event, players grievances and to transfer activities again (This time for the good reasons).
Since the FIRST retirement of Scholes, Manchester United have been unable to fill the void he left in their midfield that they had to resign him 6 months later, and now, he is FINALLY retired, they still lack quality in the central midfield.
Carrick has been doing his best but there is nobody complementing his effort and Fellaini was brought in the summer to do that but he has been close to woeful since his arrival from Everton after United paid a hefty price to get him.
That brings me to where I am going, Mata. The news of the imminent arrival of Juan Mata from Chelsea brought about ooze at the Old Trafford ground on Wednesday (but that still couldn't prevent them from crashing out of the Capital one cup), that is what top quality signings bring you (you can ask Arsenal) but the question is what will come of him at the "Theatre of Dreams"?
After we have seen Shinji Kagawa drop down the pecking order at Old Trafford, a similar player to Juan Mata, I can't just help but wonder what role Mata would play at Manchester United. Wayne Rooney has been the major player displacing Kagawa off his preferred No 10 role. So where does Mata play when Rooney is fit?
Moyes has to find a way of accommodating the quartet of Rooney, Van Persie, Januzaj and Juan Mata without affecting the balance of the team in his starting line-up. Though Mata is not the central midfielder Manchester United crave for and where ever he might play for United, Mata would prove to be a great addition to the United squad.
